How to navigate a presentation in Prezi
Prezi is a fun, exciting and non-conventional zoom presentation tool allowing you to focus on the details, as well as showing the big picture. I am sure many of you have used Power Point to present, which is built for linear, slide by slide navigation. Your thinking is also linear. When you try to navigate a Prezi presentation for the first time, it may be frustrating or even annoying, since you might be looking for those familiar features, like flipping slides one after the other, content broken up to fill these square shapes, online you might expect audio to hear. With Prezi you need to step out of the box. Imagine that you only have one huge slide, a big wall or poster, where you place all the pieces of your presentation (text, image, flash video) in a very creative manner anywhere on this huge work space. Navigating a Prezi presentation may be confusing for many of us first, but as you get accustomed to it, it is fun. I really enjoy working with this tool. When you create your Prezi presentation, with the Path tool you can connect various pieces in the order you want them to appear one after the other, it is like connecting dots on a picture puzzle. One way of navigating a Prezi presentation is using the Autoplay mode or for manual navigation, the forward button to follow the preset sequence of your production. It almost looks like a movie camera moving around on your big slide or poster, zooming in and out and moving left, right, up and down. When the presentation includes an embedded movie, use the manual mode. Autoplay will not wait until the movie finishes. The zoom navigation sets Prezi apart from other PowerPoint type of presentation tools. You can also use the zoom button to zoom out any time to see the big picture and then click into another area and zoom in to see the details. You can easily switch between the sequential navigation and zoom navigation. And don’t forget that you can also click anywhere in the presentation area with your mouse and with the mouse wheel you can zoom in and out . The easiest to navigate in Prezi, is the Full Screen mode. Prezi will give an impressive illustration to your live presentation. Your can keep your audience interested from the beginning to the end.
